Reviews: Fiskars 7884 X27 36-Inch Super Splitting Axe
This is the best splitting axe I've ever come across. If you are splitting 18" rounds under 14", it will do the job on the first strike. However, if you are splitting longer and wider logs, it may take a few more depending on the number of knots and so forth. However, it will still split in fewer strikes that any other axe I've seen. Not only that, the design of this axe head prevents if from being lodged in the wood, so you don't have to fight to get it out of the wood, which is another big time plus.
I have and outdoor wood boiler and cut between 11-13 cords of wood per year. Since the outdoor boiler can take wood up to 54" long and any diameter, much of my wood is not split and that which is split will be done with this axe.
All in all, you won't be disappointed with this axe.
